Meet The Doctors

Ronald Saffar, DDS

Dr. Ronald Saffar has been creating beautiful, healthy smiles since 2002. A proud graduate of NYU College of Dentistry, Dr. Saffar opened his office in Ewing in 2004. Since then he has expanded to offer multiple locations across New Jersey and Pennsylvania. His commitment to excellence and his vision of making this service available to most communities, as well as providing fulfilling careers for his employees, have propelled My Orthodontist to be the “go-to place” for orthodontic treatment.

Dr. Saffar is a proud member of the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics and is a board-certified orthodontist. 

Dr. Saffar loves the outdoor life, including skiing and golfing. He and his wife, Parissa, have one child, Nikki. On a Sunday afternoon, you’re likely to find him with his daughter grabbing a Bentspoon ice cream in Princeton!


Marie-Elena Cronin, DMD

New Jersey born and raised, Dr. Marie-Elena Cronin earned her bachelor degree from Villanova University, where she graduated summa cum laude. Dr. Cronin then went on to earn her dental degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. She was nominated to the highest dental honor society, Omicron Kappa Upsilon. Dr. Cronin liked her experience so much that she stayed at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine to complete her orthodontic residency as well. She received the Jerome H. Sklaroff Award in recognition of excellence in scholarship and leadership. Dr. Cronin is a member of the American Dental Association and the American Association of Orthodontists. Dr. Cronin is passionate about orthodontics and creating beautiful, healthy smiles. 

In her free time, Dr. Cronin loves trying new restaurants and foods, cheering on the Philadelphia sports teams, traveling, reading novels, and spending time outdoors.


Barry Elaahi, DDS

Dr. Barry Elaahi has always been a firm believer that a healthy and beautiful smile is the foundation to an improved quality of life. He attended Cornell University for his undergraduate studies, where he earned his B.S. degree in Biological Engineering & Technology in 2005. He then earned his D.D.S. degree in 2009 at the Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine. In 2010, Dr. Elaahi completed a year of General Practice Residency at the Stony Brook University Hospital as a PGY-1 resident. He then went on to complete his three-year post-graduate orthodontic training at the Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine, where he earned his specialty certificate in orthodontics in 2013. He has done extensive research and completed his thesis on pediatric sleep apnea during his orthodontic training, where he was the recipient of the 2013 Leo Sreebny Award for best post-graduate residency research project.

Dr. Elaahi is a Board Certified Orthodontist (Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics) and affiliated with the American Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, and NYSDA. Furthermore, he is a certified provider of Invisalign and lingual braces. Dr. Elaahi spends much of his spare time on continuing education, research, and studies in evidence based dentistry. He is an avid tennis player and enjoys spending time with his family and friends.

Evan Hertan, DDS, MSD

Dr. Evan Hertan earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine (CDM). Following his rigorous training at Columbia CDM, Dr. Hertan pursued advanced training in cosmetic dentistry with a focus on implants, veneers and complex prosthodontic cases. It was there that Dr. Hertan became passionate about the occlusion and alignment of teeth and their importance in ideal function and aesthetics. 

Dr. Hertan went on to attend the prestigious orthodontic program at St. Louis University, Center for Advanced Dental Education, where he rotated in The Cardinal Glennon Hospital Cleft Palate Clinic. Dr. Hertan’s expertise also includes Damon Braces, Self-Ligating Braces, Expanders, TADs, MARPE, Lingual Braces, Invisalign and Clarity aligners.

Dr. Hertan combines his love for orthodontics with his care for each individual patient to create beautiful smiles patients love to show off. Dr. Hertan has a warm and calm bedside manner and is committed to bringing out each patient’s best smile. When Dr. Hertan is not creating beautiful smiles, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. He also enjoys hiking, traveling and photography.


Kate Lew, DMD

Dr. Kate Lew is a board-certified orthodontist at My Orthodontist and very dedicated to creating beautiful smiles in her patients. She is a certified provider of Invisalign and 3M Clarity aligners. Dr. Lew earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University. She then received her dental degree (DMD) from Rutgers School of Dental Medicine, where she graduated top in her class and inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Society. She completed her orthodontic residency at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine. During her residency, she received the Dr. Thomas Cangialosi Award for her dedication and extraordinary potential to the profession. Dr. Lew is currently a member of the American Dental Association and the American Association of Orthodontists.

In her free time, Dr. Lew enjoys spending time with her husband and son, traveling, trying new restaurants and cooking.
